He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council’s Resilience and Infrastructure division has an opportunity for a Delivery Lead - Technology Solutions (Recovery) to join the Business and Welfare team.

This is a critical role driving recovery‑focused digital solutions and ensuring AEM has the systems, tools, and data needed to support integrated response‑to‑recovery operations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the data flow design across multiple systems for an integrated emergency response focused solution across the 4Rs, with a specialist focus on Recovery.
  • Ensuring core digital platforms are fit‑for‑purpose, well‑documented, and aligned with AEM’s digital strategy.
  • Embedding lessons learned from the 2023 severe weather events to enhance digital readiness and recovery capability.
  • Building strong partnerships with technology teams, service areas, and external agencies to deliver effective digital solutions.
  • Supporting information management during emergency response and ensuring a seamless transition into recovery.

He kōrero mōu: About you

This role requires substantial experience in digital product solutions, information management, and the design of systems that support recovery operations within large and complex organisations.

You will bring a hands-on working understanding of how different applications work to create a solid information flow from readiness, response, and recovery, ideally within an emergency management or operational environment.

Your background will reflect strength in:

  • Understanding of recovery management theory and practice.
  • Experience contributing to strategic recovery planning and delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency management legislation.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills across council, iwi, community and central government.
  • CIMS training or ability to certify within six months.
