He angitūtanga: The opportunity
As Delivery Lead – Technology Solutions, you’ll play a pivotal role at the intersection of digital innovation and emergency management in Auckland. Based within Auckland Emergency Management’s Business and Welfare team, you’ll lead the development and stewardship of digital platforms, systems, and data capabilities – making sure they’re resilient, future-focused, and ready to perform when it matters most.
You’ll strengthen organisational preparedness by establishing robust information systems, data management practices, and integrated workflows. This includes designing and maintaining end-to-end information and data architecture that underpins reliable, timely, and actionable insights.
In business-as-usual (BAU), you’ll lead the evolution, optimisation, and governance of AEM’s digital environment. You’ll guide prototyping and testing, maintain clear programme documentation, and work collaboratively across council teams to align delivery with digital strategy and best practice. Taking a user-centred approach, you’ll engage stakeholders to understand needs, identify opportunities, and enhance tools that support readiness and community resilience.
During an emergency response, you’ll operate as part of a coordinated response function, applying established processes while adapting to dynamic conditions. As part of an on-call and standby system, you’ll support critical response activities and ensure digital tools enable effective decision-making and service delivery when Aucklanders need it most.
He kōrero mōu: About you
You’ll bring a strong digital delivery mindset, supported by experience in product delivery and information management, along with a genuine interest in how technology can improve community outcomes. Confident working across information architecture, applications, and emerging technologies, you’ll have a solid grasp of user experience principles and agile delivery practices.
Adaptable and outcomes-focused, you’re able to build trust and influence across diverse stakeholder groups. You remain calm under pressure, applying sound judgement in fast-paced and evolving environments. Experience with platforms such as SAP, D4H, Salesforce, Azure, Atlassian, and Miro is advantageous, alongside a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
