DELIVERY DRIVER ‘DZ’ License– ONTARIO BEER OPERATIONS

About You

We are looking for an individual who is safety oriented, dependable and strives to be an ambassador to Diageo’s portfolio of brands. Your technical proficiency and problem-solving skills, focus on customer service and overall focus on brand quality will assure our consumers experience the best possible product when visiting our partner licensee locations.


About the role

As a member of our team, you will be Diageo’s ambassador for full beer & spirits portfolio in the on-premise trade.

We are strongly focused on quality and customer service. Your positive demeanor towards building solid foundations with our licensee base will compliment your technical abilities and skills.

Role Responsibilities

  • Daily delivery of all available products offered to Ontario licensee partners (beer kegs)

  • Retrieval of empty kegs, in full, with each delivery

  • Inspect and confirm loads according to manifests provided

  • Driver is responsible for all product on board and to ensure accurate deliveries

  • Adhere to all company safety guidelines, MTO and CVOR requirements

  • Maintain and submit accurate daily pre and post trip inspections and driver’s logs

  • Inspect and apply all safety equipment/ PPE as required

  • Sort and schedule daily runs in an efficient manner

  • Follow all delivery instructions/ requests which includes picking up COD payments and submit to office as instructed

  • Accommodate customer delivery requests where applicable

  • Responsible for geographic account base of approximately 60-100 customer locations weekly in an efficient manner

  • Work well unsupervised

  • Report any unsafe conditions to line manager

  • Maintain a good driving record

  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner, zero tolerance for aggressive or impaired driving

  • General upkeep and safety checks of assigned company vehicle(s), including a clean truck cab and cargo hold area

  • Drive in a safe and courteous manner, zero tolerance for road rage or impaired driving incidents

  • Co-ordination with line managers and other team members to deliver on overall success

  • Understand and adhere to all company policies (Code of Business Conduct)

  • Promote Responsible Drinking in and out of the workplace

Relationships

  • Ontario Beer Operations team (Management, Customer Service, Service Technicians, Delivery and Warehouse personnel)

  • Ontario Sales / Marketing team

  • Ontario customer base (approximately 1800+ licensees)

Experience / skills required

  • First class customer service skills based on genuine passion for our brands

  • Valid Ontario Class DZ License and clean Drivers Abstract

  • Ability to locate customer sites within Ontario in both urban and suburban regions

  • Minimum 1-year external experience in safely operating a DZ class straight truck

  • Excellent social skills with a positive demeanor

  • Ability to collaborate with other team members

  • Proficient and flexible in time management

  • Ability to adapt to changes in business

  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours as required

  • Capable of working in a mobile environment with little supervision

  • Physical ability in product delivery and capable of working with 140LBS continuously and safely
