The role
As a Delivery Assurance Manager, you will be a strategic leader responsible for driving the super tribe’s product delivery roadmap while fostering an Agile culture that aligns with business goals. This role oversees the creation and execution of the roadmap, manages dependencies and risks, and ensures seamless delivery through effective prioritisation and stakeholder collaboration. Leading a team of Agile Coaches and Delivery Assurance Leads, the manager bridges product strategy with operational execution, championing continuous improvement and team development across the super tribe.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Roadmap Development and MaintenanceSupport the development, strategic review, and maintenance of the super tribe's product delivery roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, priorities, dependencies, and deployment timelines. Drive alignment across the broader product portfolio by working closely with product directors to integrate the roadmap into enterprise-wide product strategy. Influence roadmap prioritisation at the organisational level.
• Prioritisation: Partner with super tribe leaders to prioritise initiatives based on business value, user needs, technical feasibility, and strategic fit.Establish prioritization standards that cascade across tribes.
• Stakeholder Communication: Articulate the roadmap vision, progress, and updates to senior stakeholders, including product and tech super tribe leadership, marketing, and commercial teams. Lead super tribe governance forums to align on development timelines and initiatives.
• Dependency Management: Proactively identify, map, and manage complex dependencies across tribes and product components, representing the super tribe at cross-tribe forums. Lead cross-functional dependency resolution and escalate strategic blockers to leadership.
• Progress Tracking: Track roadmap progress, addressing delays, bottlenecks, or scope shifts, and collaborate with leadership to adjust timelines or resources.
• Risk ManagementEstablish risk management frameworks to identify and mitigate delivery risks (e.g., resource constraints, technical debt, market changes, regulatory shifts), working with leadership and project managers. Provide strategic risk advisory to senior leadership.
• Capacity Forecasting: Advise on resource allocation and capacity management to ensure teams can deliver on roadmap commitments.
• Reporting: Lead the development of reporting cadences and dashboards, providing regular updates on roadmap execution and delivery health to senior leadership and governance boards, leveraging UKI-aligned metrics.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with Agile Coaches to identify trends and enhance processes across tribes and squads.Ensure high-quality Jira data inputs from teams to support accurate tracking and reporting.
• Team Management: Lead and develop a team of Delivery Assurance Leads and Lead Agile Coach, allocating them to tribes based on project needs, experience, and development goals.Foster the professional growth of team members, ensuring they thrive in their roles supporting the super tribe. Lead and develop the Lead Agile Coach, empowering them to effectively line manage and grow the agile coaches
• Vision and Strategy Alignment: Translate organisational strategy into Agile delivery frameworks, ensuring Agile practices align with the product vision and business strategy. Drive the adoption of Agile practices at an enterprise level, translating objectives into actionable coaching and delivery initiatives.
• Methodology Adaptation: Lead the evolution of Agile frameworks across the organization, overseeing their adaptation to meet team-specific needs while maintaining consistency in principles across the super tribe. Champion best-practice standardization.
• Coaching and Mentoring:Mentor Delivery Assurance Leads and Lead Agile Coach, sharing expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning.Provide hands-on coaching to large Agile teams on scaled initiatives, enhancing practices, resolving impediments, and boosting performance.
• Training and Development: Organize and lead training sessions, workshops, and simulations to deepen Agile understanding and capability across teams.
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing Promote documentation of Agile practices, lessons learned, and success stories to build a shared organisational knowledge base.
• Community Building: Nurture communities of practice for Agile practitioners, encouraging collaboration and best-practice sharing.
• Performance Measurement Define and monitor Agile health metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time, team morale, customer satisfaction), using insights to drive improvement and report trends at tribe and super tribe levels.
• Change Management: Lead initiatives to embed agility and collaboration into the organisational culture, managing resistance and supporting Agile transformations.
• Problem Solving and Conflict ResolutionResolve complex, systemic blockers and mediate conflicts within or between tribes and other organizational units. Escalate and advise on strategic organizational challenges.
• Innovation: Champion experimentation with new Agile tools and techniques to enhance product development processes. Lead innovation pilots across the organization.
What You’ll Bring
· Extensive experience in delivery management, Agile coaching, or a similar leadership role in a complex, cross-functional environment.
· Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies and their practical application.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders.
• Proven track record of managing teams, dependencies, and risks in dynamic settings.
• Proficiency with tools like Jira for tracking, reporting, and data quality oversight.
• Strategic thinker with a focus on aligning delivery with business objectives.
