Homestead Co-op is hiring Full Time Deli Clerk II on a temporary basis (up to 12 months) at our Carman Food Store location. The deadline for applications for this role is May 29, 2026.

What you’ll do:
The Deli Clerk II is responsible for overseeing sales activities and service levels within the department, including adherence to asset protection, safe working conditions, Homestead Co-op brand/image standards, and product regulatory requirements.
Supervise and support the team, fostering a positive work environment and driving shift/unit objectives, including participation in recruitment and development.
Respond to customer inquiries, assess needs, and resolve issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction.
Deliver and support consistent, efficient, and friendly customer service; step in for direct service as needed.
Assist the manager with scheduling, work assignments, training coordination, and performance feedback to meet operational goals.
Additional duties as assigned to support the department and department manager.
Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Retail and have:
A Minimum 1-2 years of retail and/or customer service experience required. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
Completed a post-secondary program in Culinary Arts, Professional Baking or a related field would be considered an asset. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Experience in a bakery, food production, or fresh food retail environment is considered an asset.
Your Food Safe/Food Handler Certification required (or are willingness to obtain).
Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively and stand for long periods of time.
Demonstrated experience in merchandising, inventory control, and food handling practices is an asset.
Proven ability to deliver strong customer service and resolve customer concerns effectively is an asset.
Strong interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing demands.
