Job Description

Reporting to the Defense BU Operations Leader, you will drive delivery excellence and supplier performance in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders as needed. You will be accountable for supplier risk mitigation and for supporting the Supplier Assessment team in executing improvement plans when issues arise. In addition, you will ensure on-time delivery of critical parts impacting plant performance, manage recovery plans, monitor and improve KPIs through targeted action plans, prevent customer impact, reduce delinquency levels, and minimize inventory in close partnership with MRP planners.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of supplier capabilities, capacity, and risks in order to proactively identify potential constraints, build recovery plans, and mitigate delivery issues affecting critical material and customer impact.

  • Establish a robust operating rhythm with plants to review supplier performance, anticipate risks, and reduce supplier delinquency.

  • Conduct regular supplier visits to assess operational robustness and drive timely escalation, both internally and externally, based on issue severity, including engagement with Procurement Leaders and Commodity Leaders when appropriate.

  • Partner cross-functionally with key stakeholders to drive delivery performance, supplier improvement, and operational excellence through a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. This includes close coordination with Engineering and Supplier Quality to resolve technical issues; Material Planning to improve supplier schedules, input material control, and inventory management; Finance, Plants, and Buyers to resolve payment-related constraints; Lean/Six Sigma/AOS teams to advance process improvement, simplification, and digitalization; and Digital Technology to strengthen data visibility, analytics, and risk anticipation capabilities.

  • Support supplier risk mitigation and recovery plan execution for critical parts impacting plant performance and customer commitments.

  • Monitor key performance indicators and lead action plans to improve supplier delivery and responsiveness, reduce delinquency, avoid customer impact, and minimize inventory in partnership with MRP planners and plant teams.

  • Promote collaboration across buyers, plants, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve issue visibility, accelerate resolution, and strengthen execution discipline across the supply base.

  • Continuously seek better ways of working by promoting simplification, open-mindedness, and continuous improvement, while maintaining up-to-date functional and technical knowledge relevant to the role.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s degree in technical subject from an accredited University or Bachelor’s degree with compensating work experience in the subject matter

  • Proven experience in suppliers management (i.e. material planning, sourcing specialist, supplier development, supplier quality …)

  • Ability to coordinate people and several projects simultaneously

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills

  • Proven analytical and organizational ability

  • Attitude to work in a matrix organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Fluent English

  • Work Visa according to local regulations

  • Availability to travel nationally and internationally

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous experience in Aerospace

  • experience in manufacturing of Aerospace components

  • SAP MM Module certificate is preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Attitude to work in a cross-functional teamwork environment

  • Previous experience in materials planning with foreign Suppliers
