Role Title: Defence Procurement Officer
Looking for a role where your procurement and logistics experience supports real Defence capability?
We are seeking multiple Defence Procurement Officers to join a high-quality team delivering inventory procurement, materiel logistics and sustainment support services in a complex Defence environment.
This is an opportunity to apply your skills in procurement, inventory management, supplier engagement and ERP-based transaction processing to help ensure critical materiel is available when needed. Your work will directly support maritime sustainment outcomes and contribute to the ongoing readiness of Australia’s Defence capability.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Support inventory analysis, demand forecasting and procurement planning activities.
- Prepare procurement documentation, requests for quotation and procurement recommendations.
- Assist with value for money assessments and approval documentation.
- Raise and maintain purchase orders and procurement transactions in Defence ERP systems.
- Engage with suppliers to obtain quotations, delivery updates and repair status information.
- Monitor supplier performance and follow up outstanding or stale commitments.
- Support repairable item management, including induction, repair tracking, return-to-service and disposal activities.
- Maintain procurement, inventory and materiel master data records.
- Ensure records are maintained in Objective and other approved Defence systems.
- Prepare procurement, inventory, repairable item and expenditure reports.
- Contribute to local work instructions, process improvements and stakeholder briefings.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), procurement, inventory management, supply chain or materiel logistics.
- Experience working in a complex sustainment, maintenance or operational support environment.
- An understanding of inventory procurement and replenishment activities.
- Ability to prepare clear documentation, reports and recommendations.
- Confidence engaging with suppliers, stakeholders and internal teams.
- Experience using ERP systems to process or maintain procurement, inventory or logistics transactions.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
