Defect Elimination & Reliability (SPOF) Consultant (Expat)

Location: DRC (Site-Based, Rotation)

Employment Type: Contract

We are looking for a results-driven Defect Elimination & Reliability Consultant to support our client's asset reliability program across mining operations.

About the Role

You will lead the implementation of structured Defect Elimination (DE) practices and support the identification and management of Single Points of Failure (SPOF) to reduce operational risk and improve plant reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement structured defect elimination and root cause analysis processes
  • Identify and prioritize recurring equipment failures
  • Support development and management of SPOF registers
  • Facilitate problem-solving workshops and coaching sessions
  • Drive sustainable reliability improvements across operations

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in reliability engineering or defect elimination
  • Strong experience in root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies
  • Background in mining, smelting, or heavy industry
  • Proven ability to improve equipment reliability
  • Previous expat experience in Africa preferred
  • Relevant engineering qualification
