Job Description

Supports variety of activities/functions required in conjunction with the servicing of existing consumer loan products, primarily, on delinquent accounts. Activities in this role may include some direct communication with delinquent customers, but primary activity within daily job responsibilities are operational in nature. Position includes working directly with 3rd party vendors utilized to support various default servicing functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitors the foreclosure of loans secured by real estate through designated law firms and vendors and updates Bank's systems timely and accurately
  • Receives recommendations for foreclosure and reviews to confirm equity position, risk of loss and opportunity for Loss Mitigation and/or foreclosure
  • Prepares and reviews foreclosure documents for accuracy
  • Review title reports for accuracy and work through title claims
  • Maintain accurate records for both internal and external audits
  • Orders/recommends appraisals or inspections of properties, evaluates equity position and prepares bidding instructions for foreclosure sales
  • Responsible for ensuring vacant properties are secured in a manner consistent with protecting Huntington's interest
  • Continual training and understanding of the collection, foreclosure, bankruptcy, loss mitigation and mortgage servicing processes
  • Ability to handle incoming phone calls from customers, law firms and internal departments

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience to include knowledge of foreclosure documents and the court/legal process of foreclosure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of foreclosure documents and the court/legal process of foreclosure
  • Excellence in customer service; highly motivated, focused and goal oriented
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, planning and follow-up
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • MS Office and internet proficiency
  • Must have excellent written and verbal (face-to-face and phone) communication skills including professional grammar and demeanor
  • Paralegal Certificate
  • Bachelor or Associate degree
  • 2 years previous foreclosure experience
  • Prior default servicing experience
  • Proven experience in a decision making role
