Job Description

FactSet creates flexible, open data and software solutions for over 200,000 investment professionals worldwide, providing instant access to financial data and analytics that investors use to make crucial decisions.

At FactSet, our values are the foundation of everything we do. They express how we act and operate, serve as a compass in our decision-making, and play a big role in how we treat each other, our clients, and our communities. We believe that the best ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, at any time, and that curiosity is the key to anticipating our clients’ needs and exceeding their expectations.

FactSet Overview

FactSet is a leader in providing research, data, and analytical tools to finance professionals. Our clients combine hundreds of databases from industry-leading suppliers into a single, powerful information system—delivering instant access to accurate financial data and analytics around the world.

Deep Sector Initiative

Deep Sector is FactSet’s strategic effort to collect new content, enhance existing fundamentals coverage, and deliver advanced reports, analytics, and workflow functionality across nine industry verticals: Banks, Insurance, Real Estate, Power & Utilities, TMT, Metals & Mining, Oil & Gas, Specialty Finance, and Healthcare.

Deep Sector data extends beyond traditional public-company financial statements, providing granular, industry-specific intelligence on public and private companies, assets, transactions, regulatory disclosures, news, and other specialized content.

Position Overview

Join the Deep Sector Financial Institutions Group as a Global FIG Industry Lead for FactSet’s Banking and Insurance offerings across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific and global leadership responsibilities for FIG AI and MCP initiatives.

This senior role has two complementary mandates. First, you will lead international client engagement, market development, and product opportunity identification for FactSet’s Banking and Insurance offerings. Second, you will lead Deep Sector FIG’s contribution to FactSet’s broader AI and MCP initiatives globally. Partner with FactSet’s AI, Applications, Content, and Engineering teams to ensure Banking and Insurance content is structured, contextualized, discoverable, and reliable for AI-enabled and agentic workflows. Engage directly with clients to identify high-value use cases, translate emerging workflow needs into content and product requirements, and develop clear positioning, commercialization, and go-to-market plans for new capabilities.

You will work closely with FactSet’s global Banking and Insurance industry leads, established product and content owners, Applications, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Sales, Go-to-Market and third-party data teams. Success in this role will require strong FIG domain expertise, deep client engagement, strategic judgment, and the ability to lead complex initiatives through a matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regional Client and Market Leadership: Serve as a senior Banking and Insurance industry representative for FactSet across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. Independently lead senior client meetings, product discovery sessions, roadmap and partnership discussion across these markets. Build relationships with clients, prospects, industry participants, and strategic partners to understand regional workflows, unmet needs, and emerging market requirements.
  • Product Strategy and Roadmap: Contribute to the global FIG product strategy and roadmap by identifying and evaluating Banking and Insurance opportunities across international markets. Bring regional client needs, regulatory developments, competitive intelligence, usage data, and commercial opportunities into the global prioritization process, and lead the execution of agreed initiatives.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Partner with Go-to Market Leads to help develop regional go-to-market strategies for FactSet’s FIG products and capabilities. Partner with Sales, Consulting, Growth, and Marketing to define target client segments, priority workflows, product positioning, launch plans, pilot programs, and sales-enablement materials.
  • Commercialization: Support the commercialization of new and existing Banking and Insurance products through differentiated positioning, packaging, pricing recommendations, client demonstrations, and targeted adoption campaigns. Identify opportunities to drive new business, cross-sell existing clients, improve retention, and expand the use of FactSet’s FIG content across applications, data feeds, and APIs.
  • AI and MCP Product Leadership: Lead Deep Sector FIG’s contribution to FactSet’s AI and Model Context Protocol-enabled products and workflows. Engage directly with Banking and Insurance clients to understand how generative AI, agentic research, and automated analytical workflows are evolving and identify high-value use cases. Translate these emerging client needs into requirements for making FIG content, metadata, and analytics AI-ready, contextualized, discoverable, and accessible through MCP and related technologies. Partner with the AI Foundry, Applications, Content, and Engineering teams to develop, test, and commercialize new capabilities.
  • Special Projects and Initiative Execution: Lead high-priority FIG initiatives that span regions, products, or organizational teams. Establish clear objectives, requirements, roles, milestones, dependencies, and success measures, and drive approved initiatives from concept through client validation, delivery, launch, and post-launch evaluation.
  • Requirements and Business-Case Development: Translate client conversations, market research, usage analysis, and regulatory developments into clear opportunity assessments, business cases, product requirements, functional specifications, data requirements, and user stories. Ensure recommendations account for client value, strategic fit, revenue potential, implementation complexity, and ongoing operating costs.
  • Data and Content Opportunity Identification: Identify regulatory filings, proprietary datasets, and third-party data partners that could enhance FactSet’s international Banking and Insurance offerings. Evaluate potential sources based on coverage, quality, timeliness, licensing rights, strategic differentiation, implementation requirements, and commercial economics.
  • Data Partnerships: Develop recommendations for licensing, partnership, build, and acquisition opportunities. For approved opportunities, work with established product, content, and third-party data owners to define requirements and support implementation while preserving clear ownership of ongoing data operations.
  • International Regulatory and Reporting Coverage: Monitor changes in international Banking and Insurance accounting, regulatory, and disclosure requirements. Identify opportunities associated with frameworks such as IFRS 9, IFRS 17, Basel and Pillar 3 disclosures, Solvency II, and relevant local regulatory reporting regimes.
  • Cross-Functional Governance and Delivery: Partner with global Banking and Insurance industry leads and established product and content owners to integrate regional priorities into FactSet’s global roadmap. Work through established product-governance and prioritization processes so that international initiatives complement, rather than duplicate, existing product ownership.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Maintain a clear view of the international FIG data and analytics landscape, including competitor products, regional data providers, regulatory sources, emerging technologies, and changing client expectations. Use this intelligence to inform strategy, positioning, partnerships, and investment decisions.
  • Presentation and Sales Enablement: Work with the Sales Enablement team to help develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations, strategic presentations, workflow examples, and training materials for clients, prospects, Sales, Consulting, senior leadership, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Performance Measurement and Continuous Improvement: Establish success measures for regional and AI-enabled initiatives, including product adoption, client engagement, usage, revenue contribution, implementation progress, and client satisfaction. Use these measures to refine priorities, improve products, and inform future investment.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant Experience: At least 10 years of experience in Banking, Insurance, FIG research, financial data, financial technology, product strategy, or a related field.
  • FIG Domain Expertise: Deep expertise in Banking or Insurance and a strong working understanding of the other industry. Relevant backgrounds may include:
  • Buy-side or sell-side research covering banks, insurers, or other financial institutions.
  • Banking or Insurance strategy, finance, accounting, regulatory reporting, data management, or product development.
  • Product or content leadership at a financial-data, analytics, or technology provider.
  • Experience at a specialized FIG data provider, including SNL Financial or a comparable organization.
  • International Market Experience: Demonstrated experience working with financial institutions, institutional investors, or financial-data clients across Europe, the Middle East, or Asia-Pacific.
  • Client Engagement: Proven ability to lead substantive conversations with senior clients, understand complex research and analytical workflows, identify unmet needs, and translate those insights into differentiated product opportunities.
  • Product Strategy: Experience assessing markets, identifying opportunities, developing business cases, contributing to product roadmaps, and converting strategic priorities into executable requirements.
  • Initiative Execution: Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery and requirements definition through delivery, launch, commercialization, and performance evaluation.
  • Commercial Acumen: Experience supporting product positioning, sales enablement, go-to-market, client acquisition, adoption, cross-sell, retention, or other commercialization activities.
  • Data and Technology Fluency: Strong understanding of financial datasets, data quality, metadata, applications, data feeds, APIs, and modern data-delivery workflows. The successful candidate does not need to be an engineer but must be able to work effectively with technical and data-oriented teams.
  • AI Product Understanding: Strong understanding of how generative AI, agentic workflows, and machine-readable content are changing financial research and analytical workflows. Ability to identify credible use cases and translate them into product and data requirements.
  • Accounting and Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with international Banking and Insurance reporting frameworks, which may include IFRS 9, IFRS 17, Basel and Pillar 3 disclosures, Solvency II, prudential reporting, and local regulatory filings.
  • Matrixed Leadership: Proven ability to lead through influence, align stakeholders with different priorities, clarify responsibilities and decision rights, and deliver results without relying solely on direct reporting authority.
  • Communication and Presentation: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting product strategies, market recommendations, data solutions, and product demonstrations to senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Business, or a related field.
