About the Role

Bring the Craft. Be Part of Something New.

We're hiring a Decorator for our upcoming Paradise Valley location, opening Fall 2026. You'll join the team ahead of opening to train, ramp up, and help establish the quality and presentation standards that will define our guest experience from day one.

All baked goods are produced at our Phoenix production warehouse and delivered to Paradise Valley — your role is to finish and present every product to the highest standard before it reaches our guests. Working closely with the Lead Decorator, you'll bring skill, consistency, and care to everything that comes off your station.

Responsibilities

Pre-Opening

  • Complete onboarding, training, and ramp-up prior to location opening
  • Learn Too Sweet Cakes' decoration standards, product specifications, and brand presentation guidelines
  • Assist with decoration station setup and operational readiness under the direction of the Lead Decorator
  • Participate in team training and product preparation practice ahead of grand opening

Decoration & Craftsmanship

  • Decorate baked goods and cakes to Too Sweet Cakes' standards under the direction of the Lead Decorator
  • Maintain consistency in technique, presentation, and product appearance throughout every shift
  • Adapt to daily product mix, volume demands, and custom or seasonal specifications
  • Take pride in the quality of every product that leaves your station — the details matter

Quality & Standards

  • Inspect your own work before products move to the floor
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures throughout the decoration area
  • Communicate any quality concerns or product discrepancies to the Lead Decorator promptly
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation throughout your shift

Operations

  • Follow established procedures for mid-day station setup and end-of-shift closedown
  • Support smooth product flow between incoming Phoenix warehouse deliveries and the FOH floor
  • Assist the Lead Decorator with inventory organization, restocking, and product readiness as needed

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of professional decorating experience — cakes, pastries, or baked goods in a bakery or production environment
  • Genuine eye for detail and a personal commitment to quality and craftsmanship
  • Comfortable working at volume without sacrificing consistency
  • Able to take direction well and work effectively within a team
  • Afternoon/evening availability required; shift runs 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (eligible employees)
  • Employee product discounts
  • Paid pre-opening training and ramp-up
  • Opportunity to join a growing company and help launch a new location from the ground up

About Too Sweet Cakes

Every great story starts with a dream—and ours began with a simple one: to create pastries that not only tasted incredible but made people feel cared for.

Too Sweet Cakes was founded in 2016 by Shelbi Geyer, whose love for baking started as a young girl, sketching cake designs and dreaming of one day opening her own bakery. That dream stayed with her, fueled by a passion for creativity, connection, and a belief that food could be something truly meaningful.

What started as a small wholesale bakery quickly grew into something more. In 2018, we opened our first storefront in Bend, Oregon, creating a space where pastries weren’t just desserts—they were memories in the making. From there Too Sweet Cakes expanded to Lake Oswego, and today, we proudly operate four retail locations across Oregon and Arizona, with a fifth location opening in 2026 in Paradise Valley, Arizona.

Beyond our storefronts, you’ll find Too Sweet Cakes pastries featured in over 100 locations across Oregon, Washington, and Arizona. It’s been an incredible journey—one made possible by the extraordinary team who has brought their talents, heart, and dedication into every part of the business.

Our team of bakers, decorators, and visionaries are the heartbeat of Too Sweet Cakes. Together, we share a mission that’s never changed: to love people well through pastries.

As we continue to grow, we remain rooted in the values that sparked it all—creativity, community, and a deep love for making people feel special. We are so grateful to every customer, partner, and community who has supported our journey—and we can’t wait to celebrate even more sweet moments with you, one bite at a time.
