As a Decision Scientist at Vinted, your work will have a tangible impact on the real world, empowering Vinted’s members to lead more sustainable lives. You will play a key role in shaping our product and business strategy by leveraging data to drive impactful decision-making.

Decision Scientists at Vinted are distributed across our family of domains: Strategy & Planning, Marketing, Member Lifecycle, Buyer, Seller, Pricing & Revenue, Purchase, Order, Payments, Trust & Safety, Security, Help Experience, Vinted Go OpsTech, Vinted Go Points, and Vinted Go Network, either embedded in cross-functional product teams or as part of data teams, collaborating closely with colleagues to identify opportunities, generate insights, and improve member experiences.

Marketing is one of the primary drivers behind our biggest strategic goals, from winning the USA market to expanding beyond fashion into a multi-vertical platform

We’re looking for a Decision Scientist to join our Marketing Modelling Intelligence team to help guide high-stakes decisions across our channels and markets. As part of this team, you will maintain and improve Bayesian Media Mix Models, further develop our ROI and payback measurement, and apply statistical and econometric models to guide data-driven investment decisions and have direct impact on Vinted’s growth and ROI.

In this position, you’ll

  • Advance Marketing Intelligence: Co-create the development of our Bayesian Media Mix Models (MMM) and partner with experts to evolve our global ROI and payback frameworks.
  • Steer Investment Decisions: Act as a strategic advisor to Marketing leaders, using econometric insights and statistical modelling to guide high-stakes investments across channels and markets.
  • Validate Strategic Bets: Identify growth opportunities and answer critical business questions by designing rigorous tests and analysing impact using advanced statistical methods.
  • Scale Decision-Making: Design and deploy automated data products and self-service tools that empower the domain to make data-driven decisions independently and at scale.
  • Champion Data Excellence: Oversee key performance indicators and promote analytics best practices, ensuring our data culture translates directly into business results.

About you

  • Solid foundational experience (2–4 years) in data science, analytics, or a similar field. Experience in marketing analytics and measurement is a great benefit, but not a must.
  • A strategic mindset: You don't just provide data; you connect scientific findings to pragmatic business solutions that drive real-world growth.
  • Good communicator: You are skilled at influencing stakeholders and can present complex modelling results in a persuasive way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong technical proficiency: Proficient in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience using dbt and BI tools (like Looker or Tableau) to build scalable data products.
  • Strong theoretical foundation: Deep knowledge of principles behind data science, including statistical modelling and regression analysis. Experience with Bayesian statistics is a significant plus.
  • Educational background: A graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Math, Economics, Econometrics or a related quantitative field.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Advantage:Previous experience with Media Mix Modelling (MMM) or advanced attribution methods will be considered as advantage.
