Twin Disc – Racine, WI | Starting at $23.27/hr up to $26.50/hr
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday

The Deburrer is responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from machined and fabricated metal parts to ensure products meet quality and safety standards. This position uses hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to finish parts according to specifications and customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, excess material, and surface defects from parts using hand and power tools.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform finishing operations such as grinding, sanding, filing, polishing, and buffing.
  • Inspect parts visually and with measuring tools to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Handle and move materials and finished products safely.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.
  • Keep work area clean and organized using 5S principles.
  • Report equipment issues, quality concerns, or production problems to supervision.
  • Assist in other production activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, machining, metal finishing, or deburring experience preferred.
  • Ability to read basic prints and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, grinders, rotary tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands for gripping, handling, and manipulating tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, metal dust, and moving equipment.
  • Required use of safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other PPE as needed.
