Job Description


A growing real estate and property management environment, is seeking a
full-time Debtors Administrator to join their team in Gardens, Cape Town

. This position supports operational excellence by maintaining meticulous accounts receivable records and ensuring precise financial reconciliations. Your role plays a vital part in tracking incoming revenue, supporting day-to-day finance operations, and resolving payment discrepancies promptly.


Working closely with senior team members, the successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience in property-related financial administration. This role is highly suited to an organised, detail-oriented professional who excels at maintaining accurate documentation and wishes to grow their skills within a collaborative and supportive team environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform receipting tasks on Protel, MDA, and Xero to ensure incoming payments are recorded accurately.

  • Compare the Speedpoint tracker against the Protel payment report to identify and reconcile payment discrepancies.

  • Verify Paystack payouts against the Protel payment report to ensure transactional accuracy.

  • Conduct daily payment reconciliations to track and reconcile all incoming funds.

  • Assist in gathering necessary information for processing refunds.

  • Assist with loading Inter-Account transfers on the banking platform as directed.

  • Ensure accuracy around reporting on Pseudo rooms.

  • Support the credit control function by emailing Letters of Demand (LOD) and final LODs to defaulting tenants as required.

  • Collaborate with senior team members to resolve payment discrepancies and inquiries promptly.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of all financial transactions.

  • Support ad-hoc financial projects and reporting as assigned by the Senior Debtors Administrator or Finance Manager.


Requirements


  • Some experience or coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

  • Basic understanding of financial processes and procedures.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel.

  • Ability to learn new software quickly.

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to learn and grow within the role and the organisation.

  • Experience with any industry specific or accounting software, such as Protel, MDA, Xero, Paystack, Speedpoint tracker.
