Job Description

Missions:

• Independently handle debt collection cases, sectional title levy recovery, and litigation proceedings for the law firm.
• Manage and organize daily schedule using the Legal Practice Management system to ensure efficiency and timely case progression.
• Draft legal pleadings and correspondence, verify accuracy and factual correctness before submission to courts, Sheriffs, or other relevant authorities, and sign off on all legal documents.
• Manage electronic communication channels, respond promptly to client and debtor inquiries, and ensure clear and professional communication.
• Perform legal research on an ad hoc basis as requested, supporting case preparation and legal strategy development.
• Appear in court to present applications, conduct trials, and liaise with Magistrates or judges as necessary, representing the firm's interests effectively.
• Draft pleadings, legal letters, and any other required or requested documents with precision and professionalism.
• Consult regularly with clients, colleagues, and Counsel to coordinate legal strategies and ensure case accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

inimum Requirements:

• Presentable and professional individual, with a preference for female candidates.
• Excellent proficiency in business English, demonstrating strong communication skills.
• Possession of a completed Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, with admission as a qualified Attorney mandatory.
• Between 1 and 2 years of post-admission experience, particularly in High Court and Magistrate’s Court litigation, as well as debt collection, essential.
• Experience in sectional title levy collections is highly preferred, demonstrating specialized knowledge in this area.
• Ability to operate independently across all aspects of debt collection and related litigation processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of applicable legislation concerning debt collection and sectional title levy enforcement.
• Proficient in MS Office suite, Court Online platforms, and Practice Management systems.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and own vehicle for commuting purposes.
• Demonstrable stable employment history and reliable references.
• Availability to commence work as soon as possible.
