CharteredPartners is seeking an experienced debt advisory professional to join our client in Hong Kong at Director level. The successful candidate will lead financing and refinancing mandates for corporates and sponsors across Greater China, advising on capital structure and running competitive lender processes through to financial close. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead debt advisory mandates, including refinancing, acquisition finance and growth-capital raisings for corporates and sponsors.
• Advise clients on capital structure, covenant packages and the optimal mix of senior, mezzanine and bilateral facilities.
• Run competitive financing processes, preparing lender presentations, information memoranda and term-sheet negotiations to financial close.
• Build and maintain relationships with regional banks, credit funds and institutional lenders across Greater China and the GBA.
• Develop and review leveraged and debt-capacity models to assess affordability and headroom.
• Advise on intercreditor arrangements, security packages and the documentation of facility agreements alongside legal counsel.
• Direct and develop the analyst team and support partners on origination and business development.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• HKICPA membership, or an equivalent qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CPA, ideally with the CFA.
• Ten or more years in debt advisory, leveraged finance or corporate banking, including time at Director or Senior Manager level.
• Deep knowledge of debt structuring, covenants, intercreditor arrangements and security mechanics.
• Strong command of credit analysis, leveraged modelling and debt-capacity assessment.
• Established relationships across regional banks, credit funds and institutional lenders.
• Fluency in IFRS and HKFRS as they bear on covenant definitions and financing.
• Understanding of the HKEX and SFC environment where financing interacts with listed companies.
• Sound grasp of acquisition-finance mechanics and their interaction with SPA terms.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the credibility to advise boards and treasurers.
• A track record of leading and developing advisory teams.

Preferred Experience:

• Mandarin fluency for Greater China borrowers and lender counterparties.
• Experience of cross-border financing connecting the GBA with ASEAN or international lenders.
• Exposure to special-situations, restructuring or distressed financing.
• Sector depth in real estate, infrastructure, consumer or technology.
• Prior experience within a recognised global accounting-firm or investment-bank advisory practice.
• A portable network of borrower and lender relationships.

Compensation:

Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.
