Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU; www.mbru.ac.ae) is part of the newly established Dubai Academic Health Corporation (DAHC). DAHC seeks to strengthen Dubai as a global leader in health care, medical education, research, and scientific innovation, to enhance the capabilities of Dubai’s healthcare sector. DAHC is managing and operating all Dubai public hospitals, primary healthcare centers, specialized care centers, Dubai Dental Hospital; Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, MBRU and Al Jalila Research Foundation.

The College of Nursing and Midwifery (CoNM), Mohammed Bin Rashid University, Dubai United Arab Emirates (MBRU), was launched in September 2019. It currently offers two postgraduate clinical programs in Master of Science in Pediatric and Cardiovascular Nursing in collaboration with Queens University Belfast and has graduated two cohorts.

Job Purpose:

The Dean will lead the College’s further growth and development which is anticipated to include managing current programs, addition of new specialisms and expansion of selected programs to doctorate level in a research-intensive environment and in alignment with the University’s and UAE national goals and developing meaningful partnerships/collaborations to achieve MBRU’s mission.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

• The preferred candidate will hold a PhD (or equivalent degree) and have a strong background in academia and academic administration with a strong teaching, research and professional practice record. He/she will be familiar with the process of academic program accreditation, have excellent organizational, management, leadership and communication skills and be passionate about developing and mentoring learners.

Specific Criteria:

The candidate will have at least ten years’ experience in academia and academic administration, part of which will be as a Dean, and hold a full Professor academic rank

Language Requirement:

Written and spoken English (essential)

Arabic (desirable)
