The Deal Specialist role is making decisions and uncovering insights/trends for increasing Azure, Microsoft 365 and Dynamics revenue while simplifying processes to increase deal velocity.

The Worldwide Deal Desk is part of Microsoft’s Worldwide Commercial Finance organization sitting in Finance and reporting to Microsoft’s CFO Amy Hood.



Responsibilities

  • Accountable for making decisions regarding concessions to drive deals to closure, but minimizing risk to Micosoft and landing good profitable business.
  • Ensure sales and negotiation strategies adhere to established guidelines, policies and legal standards.
  • Collabortate with sales, legal and business groups to identify customer blockers/enablers.
  • Manage customers contractual needs after a licensing agreement has been signed. Ensuring we continue a good relationship with every customer past negotiations is critical for the business.
  • Own communicating and highlighting business trends to help the team and business operate more effectively and find effieciences to improve deal velocity. You will highlight, propose and coordinate key improvements to processes and empowerment changes.
  • Find new and programatic solutions on how to process customers needs throughout the licensing process.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Analytical and business judgment skills across a range of disciplines.
  • Effective communication, cross-group collaboration and project management skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity.
  • Experience in influencing positive outcomes without direct authority.
  • Comfort engaging across all levels of the organization - executives to individual contributors.
  • Appetite to learn and deal with a frequently changing environment, incomplete information and complex stakeholder structures.
  • Background in Cloud technologies and a strong perspective of Digital Transformation are highly welcome.

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
