Deal Desk Analyst

Job Summary

The Deal Desk Analyst provides real-time support to the sales team, ensuring deals are structured efficiently and in compliance with company policies. This role focuses on speed, accuracy, and execution to drive deal velocity and optimize pricing, discounting, and contract terms. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, works collaboratively across multiple teams, and ensures smooth deal execution from quote to close.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Execution & Approval

• Partner with sales reps to quickly assess, structure, and approve quotes within company guidelines.
• Manage the end-to-end quote-to-close process, ensuring timely approvals and deal progression.
• Review deal terms for compliance with pricing, discounting, and legal policies.
• Identify process bottlenecks and drive efficiency improvements, including CPQ configuration and workflow automation.
• Collaborate with sales reps and managers to creatively resolve complex issues that arise during deal progression.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Finance, Legal, and Revenue Operations to resolve deal roadblocks and streamline approvals.
• Ensure contract terms comply with company policy and revenue recognition guidelines, and support proper billing and revenue recognition with Finance.
• Support sales enablement on pricing strategies, policies, and best practices.

Training & Team Development

• Conduct onboarding and ongoing training as systems and processes evolve, ensuring the team has the knowledge and skills to succeed.
• Document new process best practices, highlight key wins, and promote a culture of continuous improvement across the deal desk function.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Monitor sales pipeline, deal velocity, and win rates to identify trends.
• Provide data-driven insights to improve deal conversion and pricing effectiveness.
• Develop dashboards and reports for executive leadership on deal performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

• 1-3 years of experience in Deal Desk, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, or a similar role.
• Strong Salesforce and CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) experience.
• Solid understanding of pricing models, discounting strategies, and revenue recognition principles (ASC 606 preferred).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to partner with sales and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-growth, B2B SaaS environments, with knowledge of subscription-based pricing and multi-year deals.
• Knowledge of financial modeling.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple deals simultaneously in a fast-paced sales environment

The base salary range for this position is 560 000,00−840 000,00 ZAR plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
