Must Have:

  • Prefer Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Management, Computer Science Engineering or related subject.
  • Experience working independently as an Application Data Modeler, Business Analyst and/or business partner where the majority of time was spent analyzing business data requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to understand and document business data requirements in complete, accurate, extensible, flexible logical data models using CASE modeling tools e.g. ER/Studio, Hackolade.
  • Understanding of the full development project lifecycle and a project lifecycle methodology
  • Familiarity with Data Architect role within project lifecycle methodology, as well as other development project roles e.g. Business Analyst and DBA within the methodology.
  • Able to facilitate discussions between small groups of IT and business people, recognize issues of conflict and inconsistency between data requirements and pursue a resolution of these issues.
  • Experience in NoSQL Database Administration related to Couchbase, Cassandra and MongoDB.
  • Ability to plan, scope and estimate work effort.
  • Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team, as well as independently under own initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Assist with standardizing the definition of data for reuse across the enterprise and work with application development teams and business partners to establish and maintain consistent data domain and data element definitions across lines of business.
  • Provide full hand over of the logical data model to the application development teams, as well as the DBA for the physical design and database build work.
  • Participate in peer reviews of completed data models and plans to ensure quality, and identify alignment opportunities across portfolios or regions.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models to support business and technical requirements.
Translate Conceptual Data Models (CDM) into Logical Data Models (LDM) and further into Physical Data Models (PDM)
Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and engineering teams to understand data requirements and align architecture accordingly.
Ensure adherence to data modelling standards, best practices, and governance frameworks
Optimize database structures for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture and models.
Write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis, validation, and performance tuning.

  • Apply normalization techniques (up to 3NF) to ensure efficient data organization.
  • Support database design reviews and provide guidance on data-related decisions.

2-5 years of experience in designing and maintaining data models.
Strong expertise in:
Conceptual Data Modelling (CDM)
Logical Data Modelling (LDM)
Physical Data Modelling (PDM)
Proven experience in:
Converting CDM → LDM → PDM
Working with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
Strong proficiency in SQL (query writing, optimization, and analysis).
Solid understanding of database design principles and normalization (up to 3NF)

  • Good grasp of core data architecture and database design concepts



Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., document stores, key-value stores).

  • Familiarity with wide-column databases (e.g., Cassandra, HBase).
  • Experience working in distributed data environments or large-scale data platforms.
