Within ASML, the sector Development and Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification, design, integration, qualification, and sustaining of all ASML products. Taking advantage of customer and manufacturing proximity, the D&E Applications of the ASML Center of Excellence (ACE) is located in Linkou, Taiwan

Job Mission

You will join one of our multinational Scrum teams. Each team is composed of 5~7 SW developers, 2~3 APP designers, a sr. lead SW designer, a Scrum Master, and a Product Owner. We operate in the Scrum Agile way of working. All teams cooperate to deliver our best product solutions within ART (Aigle Release Train)

Geographical Workplace

ACE (ASML Taiwan, Linkou). Travel to the customer sites or the development headquarters (HQ) in the Netherlands for on-the-job training may be needed as part of the assignment

As the sr. lead SW designer, you will take the lead in key technical areas including managing team competencies, driving the technical roadmap, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions. You will also guide or mentor the team in software development, promoting industry best practices throughout the process.

You lead several of the following tasks, depending on the distribution of tasks within the team:

Software Development

  • Lead the team in SW product development using Java and best practices
  • Coach the team to solve problems and deliver features in the lifecycle

High-Quality Solutions

  • Align direction with key stakeholders to achieve first-time right delivery
  • Ensure the team to make appropriate tradeoffs and decisions in solutions

Technical Roadmap

  • Contribute to the creation of product roadmap
  • Drive team roadmap for continuous improvement

Competency Management

  • Define and manage team competency matrix
  • Grow and develop team competence owners

Educational Level

A relevant BSc or MSc in the area of software engineering, computer science, information systems, IT or electronics

Experience

- 5 years of experience in software development using Java ecosystem, covering the full software development lifecycle

- 3 years of experience in designing the high-level blueprint for software systems, making critical decisions on architecture, technologies, frameworks, and coding standards

- Proven ability to lead software teams in building robust, high-quality commercial applications

- Proficient in applying object-oriented paradigms, utilizing design patterns, and following software engineering best practices

- Proficient in applying structured problem-solving techniques to drive effective solutions

- Proficient in project management and planning, with a strong focus on driving results

  • Ability to communicate professionally with SW/non-SW colleagues worldwide
