Job Description

The DCS Administrator/Site IT Manager will design, optimize, and manage OCI Alabama’s hardware, software and system processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, administer, and deploy the plant-wide DCS and associated networks, servers, engineering stations, and operator consoles for all chemical production units in accordance with all company standards.
  • Configure, test, and implement control strategies, interlocks, sequences, and batch recipes to meet process targets.
  • Implement and maintain alarm management, including alarm limits, priorities, and rationalization to reduce nuisance alarms and improve operator response.
  • Implement and maintain safety-related controls and interlocks in alignment with P&IDs, cause-and-effect charts, and safety instrumented functions (in coordination with SIS where applicable).
  • Ensure DCS configurations support regulatory and site standards for emissions, waste handling, and product quality, including data retention for audits and incident investigations.
  • Plan and execute DCS and IT software and hardware upgrades to avoid obsolescence, coordinating with vendors and corporate IT while minimizing plant downtime.
  • Manage backups, disaster recovery plans, and change management for all configuration, graphics, and logic across units and projects.
  • Provide advanced technical support for complex issues.
  • Manage and coordinate third-party MSPs, ensuring seamless integration and operation of external services.
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting and resolve critical technical problems related to applications, systems, and hardware.
  • Support business applications, ensuring they are functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Maintain and update IT documentation.
  • Monitor and manage IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and workstations, to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Provide training and support for staff on IT-related topics, enhancing their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures, maintaining a secure and efficient IT environment.
  • Follow IT Policy and procedures and maintain KSOX audit compliance. Support internal and external audits quarterly by providing reports and supporting documentation.
