Job Description

A Shipping Lead will be assigned the duties of assisting with the day-to-day operations of a work group, and assist the supervisor as directed. The Shipping Lead will also be responsible for training all new employees on safety, product handling, housekeeping, and certification, and other applicable distribution center standard operating procedures.

Essential Functions

· Lead employees in all functions in the work group

· Provide on-the-floor training to employees

· Monitor housekeeping

· Assign work to employees

· Resolve group production problems

· Contact appropriate personnel for assistance when needed

· Assist the Supervisor in the effective operation of the work group

· Perform department direct labor functions as assigned

· Periodically assist in special assigned projects as needed

· Participate in team meetings and activities

· Assist with training of other employees

· Attend scheduled training sessions

· Maintain reliable attendance

· Work as a member of a team

· Follow safe work practices

· Other duties as assigned by management

Marginal Functions:

· Perform general housekeeping duties in area

· Suggest improvements on process inputs

Physical Demands:

· Stand frequently

· Walk frequently

· Sit rarely

· Use hands, wrists and/ or arms continuously

· Reach above shoulders frequently

· Stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch frequently

· Communicate continuously

· Use foot or feet to operate machine frequently

· Lift, push and/or pull up to:

25 - 50 lbs. frequently

50 - 100lbs. occasionally

100+ lbs. (based on product)
