The Distribution Center (DC) Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in driving daily operations and delivering safe, efficient, and accurate outcomes across assigned departments. This leader partners closely with Supervisors and team members to execute operational plans, maintain budget discipline, and uphold compliance standards while fostering a culture of accountability, development, and inclusivity

This role requires the ability to develop leaders, build high-performing teams, and inspire team members to raise the bar in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operational Leadership
Achieve departmental production and accuracy goals by driving productivity, on-time completion, and operational excellence across assigned shifts.
People Leadership & Development
Oversee and develop 2–3 Supervisors and approximately 75 team members/temporary associates. Ensure training completion, cross-training participation, and foster a culture of learning, growth, and inclusivity.
Change & Transformation Leadership
Lead teams through operational and organizational change, ensuring alignment with corporate initiatives and General Manager directives. Model adaptability and resilience while encouraging solution-focused problem solving.
Staffing & Labor Management
Manage workforce planning to balance staffing levels, address shortages/surpluses, and optimize labor cost per carton while meeting operational goals.
Process & Efficiency
Ensure logistics activities operate efficiently and meet delivery KPIs through process reviews, vendor compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
Champion a proactive safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA and facility standards, conducting safety walks, and reinforcing accountability for safe work practices.
Communication & Alignment
Provide clear communication of weekly goals, daily plans, and shift priorities to ensure operational alignment and cross-team collaboration.
Financial Stewardship
Assist in maintaining and managing the DC budget with a focus on cost control, labor efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
Automation Operations & Performance Management
Oversee daily performance of automated material handling systems, including driverless forklifts (AGVs/AMRs) and automated offloading equipment, ensuring optimal throughput, system uptime, and safe interaction with team members. Partner with maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to resolve issues, drive continuous improvement, and maximize efficiency within an evolving automated environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years of progressive distribution leadership experience, including supervisory responsibility.
Experience leading in high-volume, fast-paced environments with exposure to automation and warehouse systems.
Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Yard Management Systems (YMS), and Host Systems required.
Demonstrated ability to lead through change, develop leaders, and foster inclusive, high-performing teams
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of driving results.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
Ability to work extended hours and meet time-sensitive deadlines as business requires.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in non-climate-controlled environments (cold/heat).
