DC MANAGER– WEEKEND SHIFT
REPORTS TO: SR. DC OPERATIONS MANAGER
STATUS: EXEMPT
SCHEDULE: Sunday, Monday, Saturday, 6:00am-6:30pm

The DC Manager is a champion and model of Boot Barn’s Mission, Vision and Values. They are a business driver who demonstrates the highest level of leadership in support of attainment of distribution center goals, a builder of strong teams and culture that encourages partner engagement and regular development of distribution center partners, and a distribution center expert who sets the standard for operational excellence in all areas. The DC Manager will partner with the Sr. DC Operations Manager & Supply Chain Leadership, Human Resources, and Store Support Center in pursuit of year-over-year increases, a best-in-class customer experience, ensuring the Distribution Center operates safely, efficiently, accurately, and cost-effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership to distribution center partners by setting clear expectations, leading by example, and fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop the team by hiring, coaching, mentoring, and conducting performance reviews.
- Responsible for overseeing Inbound, Outbound, and E-Commerce functions of the shift and ensuring productivity goals are met in each area of the business.
- Manage the relationships with outside service providers within the facility to ensure proper procedures and cost structures are maintained and that all services meet or exceed our Company’s standards. These services include but are not limited to supply, security, janitorial, and food service vendors.
- Work directly with the WMS administrator to drive improvements to the operations through proper use of system settings and improved accuracy within required data.
- Have a working knowledge of all DC functional areas to support leadership team during Holiday season and in situations where current management needs coverage for direct supervision.
- Identify, research, and resolve operational issues within the Distribution center.
- Develop and execute operational strategies, budgets, facility goals and objectives in conjunction with the DC leadership team and the Vice President of Operations.
- Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures for all functional areas within the distribution center.
- Communicate with the SSC Irvine team to ensure proper set up and maintenance of the item attributes required for online sales and fulfillment.
- Maintain a safe working environment for all associates by providing training, procedures, and adherence to safety standards for all to follow while maintaining a neat and orderly facility.
- Be accountable for proper supply levels and costs to complete daily requirements for order fulfillment.
- Create and maintain meaningful KPI’s that reflect the performance levels within the distribution center and report them to the executive team weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with the other departments in the Company including but not limited to Finance, Buying, Human Resources, Planning, and Marketing. To ensure proper execution of all Company level strategic initiatives and goals
- Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance.
- Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.
- Adhere to all local, federal and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Strong communication, customer service, time management and organizational skills.
- High school diploma with at least some college level coursework preferred.
- Position requires standing and walking at least 50% of the time and the ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
- Knowledge of and skills pertaining to all Microsoft Office suite programs
- Ability to use and navigate within a Windows PC environment.
- Experience using software programs including a Warehouse management system (WMS), Order management system (OMS), manifesting system, and an enterprise resource planning system (ERP).
