What are we looking for?
We are looking for a DSP (Direct Support Professional) who provides support to persons with disabilities in developing and/or maintaining skills to enhance the quality of their lives in the community; observe and respond to the physical, social, behavioral, career and personal needs of persons served; advocates for the needs of persons served and serves as a link to community inclusion; assists with daily routines (i.e. household tasks, employment related task, personal care
Your overall essential responsibilities will be the following:
Provide appropriate level of supervision and training to persons served through services to include residential, day, respite, community, and employment services to facilitate their social wellbeing, health and safety in the least restrictive environment.
Will: administer medication to persons served; per medication administration procedures upon successful state required certifications.
Assist persons served to take public transportation or ensures Transport to to access community resources. Assist with the planning and implementation of daily activities; including those that promote social inclusion and building social capital for each person served
Follow prescribed SJCS procedures to document support provided to persons served including progress towards skill acquisition, choices, health matters, achievements and challenges daily.
Attend and participate in all mandated events, workshops, training, investigations and meetings.
Ensure responsible usage of personal and agency resources, e.g. vehicles, property, finances, etc.
