The DB Benefits Administrator is primarily responsible for calculating defined benefit pension benefits accurately in accordance with applicable plan provisions, plan specifications, and established procedures. The role also supports the broader administration of defined benefit pension plans by maintaining participant and pension data, supporting pension payment and payroll administration, processing participant requests, and researching and responding to pension calculation-related questions received from the call center.

What You Will Do

  • Calculate defined benefit pension benefits for Death, QDRO, RMD and Retirement (Early, Normal and Late)
  • Research and provide accurate responses to pension calculation-related questions received from the call center.
  • Review plan provisions and participant information required to complete benefit calculations.
  • Review, organize, and maintain plan and participant documentation to support efficient information retrieval.
  • Process and maintain participant records, payroll information, pension data, data queries, and plan-related documentation.
  • Perform data-processing activities related to defined benefit plan administration.
  • Use benefits administration applications to process participant requests within established service-level standards.
  • Support pension payment and payroll administration activities.
  • Coordinate fulfillment of participant letters and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with defined benefit associates on day-to-day pension administration activities.
  • Accurately record billable time to support correct client billing.
  • Deliver accurate and timely service to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes.
  • Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support special projects and additional defined benefit administration activities as assigned.
  • Pursue continued professional education, including taking and passing applicable professional examinations.
  • Responsible to provide response to queries/concerns raised by call center thru tickets or via email.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • 1–2 years of work experience.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to calculation and data accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret plan provisions and apply plan specifications accurately.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office or related software.
  • Effective planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive client and participant information.
  • Should have exposure to performing manual calculation either on calculator spreadsheet or blank spreadsheet.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Previous experience with defined benefit plan or pension administration.
  • Experience calculating defined benefit pension benefits in accordance with plan provisions.
  • Experience researching and resolving pension calculation questions or discrepancies.
  • Experience supporting participant records, pension payroll, benefit calculations, or pension payments.
  • Relevant certification in U.S. employee benefits.
