Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Cook to oversee meal preparation and kitchen operations for our Head Start and Early Head Start programs. This position plays an important role in supporting children’s health, nutrition, and development by preparing nutritious meals in a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
Starting Rate: Up to $15.34 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:30am-2:30pm (40 hours/week)

What You’ll Do
Qualifications
• Associate’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Home Economics, or related field preferred
• Two to five years of food service experience preferred, especially in childcare, school, or healthcare settings
• Experience preparing large quantities of food
• Serve Safe Certification required within six months of employment
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of child nutrition guidelines and commercial kitchen operations preferred
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for extended periods, operate kitchen equipment safely, lift food and kitchen supplies up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
