Our Homeless Services Team at 40 Prado is looking for Homeless Services Workers with part time & weekend availability. As a Homeless Services Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing direct services to our clients. Your responsibilities will include assessing needs, offering information and referrals, distributing essential supplies, and supervising on-site activities. You will collaborate with various service providers and emergency personnel to ensure comprehensive support for our clients.
Qualifications:
• Has at least six months of experience providing direct human or health services to economically disadvantaged, physically/mentally disabled, substance abuse/dual-diagnosed individuals, the elderly, or at-risk youth.
• Has relevant education and/or volunteer experience in a related field.
• Depending on the department assigned, a valid California driver’s license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws.
As a Homeless Services Worker you will:
• Perform client sign-in, data collection, and maintain program attendance records.
• Screen clients for entry into homeless programs, ensuring safety and adherence to policies.
• Maintain a safe environment by monitoring the site and premises.
• Perform HMIS intake and client assessment, providing referrals to community services.
• Utilize conflict resolution and crisis management techniques to manage clients.
• Handle documentation, including client messages, daily logs, incident reports, and more.
• Oversee client housekeeping activities and address maintenance issues.
• Coordinate food service, ensuring proper sanitation practices and food distribution.
• Maintain facility security and interact with various service providers and community members.
