Job Description

Are you compassionate, energetic, and looking for a rewarding career? Join Ohel’s Day Habilitation Program and empower adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to build life skills, achieve greater independence, and actively participate in their communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and living meaningful, self-directed lives
  • Lead engaging activities that foster independent living skills, healthy habits, and community participation
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting dignity, choice, and respect
  • Accompany individuals to volunteer sites, recreational outings, and community activities
  • Complete documentation and progress notes accurately and on time
  • Collaborate with team members, families, and supervisors to provide quality support

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred
  • Valid NY or NJ driver's license with the ability to drive a 15-passenger van strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and basic computer skills

Position includes a competitive benefits package that includes a 403B retirement plan, sick and vacation paid time off (PTO) and health insurance. Eligibility for all benefits is based on hours worked, employment classification, and fulfillment of applicable waiting periods and plan requirements. This full time position is based in Queens.
