About the role
As a Day Centre Cook, you will enable individuals to live well by delivering the nutritional requirements for the clients following the BaptistCare menu and dietary information system. You understand the role food plays in sustenance, enjoyment, and connecting community, and you’ll work to bring this to fruition. You will support the onsite Social Centre and operational teams, in the cook’s absence, you will ensure food production, service standards, and compliance are maintained

We offer a competitive salary based on your previous experience from $30.30 – $37.73 /hr + superannuation + penalties + salary packaging.

What do we need from you?

  • Ability to present food attractively and appetizingly.
  • Sound knowledge of economic food management, ordering, and stocktaking.
  • Experience in commercial cooking for large numbers.
  • Ability to work effectively unsupervised.
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written).
  • Desire to work with the elderly within our shared values.
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery/ Hospitality or relevant Trade qualifications

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
