The Junior Counselor will assist with the supervision and care of campers in a safe, supportive, and engaging day camp environment. Junior Counselors help meet campers’ day-to-day needs while contributing to a fun, inclusive experience filled with age-appropriate activities, games, and programming.
Junior Counselors work alongside Camp Counselors and other camp staff to support programming for an assigned age group throughout the camp day. Responsibilities include assisting with activities, encouraging positive camper interactions, helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment, and supporting the physical, social, and emotional well-being of campers.
The successful candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates patience and enthusiasm, and is eager to learn and grow as a member of the Frost Valley YMCA camp team. Junior Counselors serve as positive role models and are expected to follow all Frost Valley YMCA safety, supervision, and child protection policies.
Junior Counselors will always work under the supervision of senior camp staff and will never be alone with campers.
