Job Description

Counselor will be responsible for all facets of the implementation of the Youth Program Summer Day Camp, primarily the supervision of youth and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in implementing Summer Day Camp under the Director’s leadership and Corps Officers as needed.
  • Proper supervision of youth while maintaining a safe and structured environment at all times.
  • Participation with students during all activities.
  • Assist with the teaching and implementation of lessons and activities (i.e. arts, recreation, devotions, etc.).
  • Assist with snack and meal distribution
  • Attend all field trips and other outings
  • Maintain good stewardship practices in care of equipment, facilities and grounds

Qualifications

  • Passion to help disadvantaged youth
  • Good communication skills
  • All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Request for Criminal Record, and Fingerprint based federal criminal history.
  • PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Army's KeepSAfe training required.
  • High school diploma - or working towards one
  • Previous employment or volunteer experience working with youth and leading activities
