Position: Day Camp Coordinator

Department: York. PA

Availability of Position: 6/15/26 - 8/14/26

Schedule: FT, M-F 8:00am-4:00pm

Reporting Relationship: Community Center Director/Corps Officer

Salary: $20.00 per hour

Responsibilities

The Day Camp Cordinator is a full time seasonal position that will assist with the running of the Corps Summer Camp Program, including assisting in hiring of staff, establishing and maintaining programs during the summer.

of Position:

  • The Day Camp Coordinator will assist the Corps Officers/Assistant Corps Officer with creative oversight and direction with every aspect of the daily Summer Day Camp Program, as well as being involved with hiring staff, orientation, and supervision.
  • The Day Camp Coordinator will interact with parents and campers and must possess the ability and desire to work side by side with them for an exceptional experience of spiritual, emotional, physical, and intellecrual enhancement while in their care.
  • The Day Camp Coordinator will perform other duties as assigned.
  • The Day Camp Coordinator maintains a positive and professional demeanor during ineractions with members, guests, collegues, and the community.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Completed degree (Bachlors or Masters)
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in directing similar programs.
  • Strong interest in educational development of children
  • Working with a Christian organization we ask for a relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Strong Work Ethic.
  • Organizational Skills.
  • Flexible
  • Basic Technology Skills
  • Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. In addition, completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
  • Must understand and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
