Requirements


We are looking for a skilled Datadog Integration Specialist to enhance our monitoring and integration capabilities. This role involves designing and implementing integrations with various data sources while ensuring optimal performance and reliability across our systems.


Key Responsibilities:


Integration Setup:


  • Design and Implementation:

    • Architect and implement integrations with diverse data sources, including Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD tools, and Spinnaker.

    • Create and maintain custom scripts and configurations to automate the processes of data collection and integration.

  • Configuration Management:

    • Configure Datadog agents and integrations to gather metrics, logs, and traces from various environments.

    • Ensure accurate tagging and metadata enrichment to enable detailed monitoring and analysis.


Service Map & Service Catalog:


  • Service Mapping:


    • Leverage Datadog’s Service Map to visualize the architecture and interdependencies of services within the organization.

    • Continuously update and enhance service maps to reflect system topology changes, ensuring accuracy.

  • Service Catalog Management:


    • Maintain an exhaustive Service Catalog in Datadog, documenting all services, their owners, and interdependencies.

    • Implement procedures for regularly updating the Service Catalog to keep it current and relevant for stakeholders.

  • Traceability and Dependency Analysis:


    • Facilitate end-to-end transaction traceability across services using Datadog APM.

    • Conduct dependency analysis to identify critical service relationships and potential failure points.


Monitoring & Alerting:


  • Develop and execute monitoring strategies to assess the performance and health of integrated systems.

  • Configure alerts and dashboards to proactively identify and resolve issues.

  • Analyze system performance data to pinpoint bottlenecks and improvement areas.

  • Provide recommendations and implement solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.


Collaboration & Support:


  • Collaborate closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure effective integration and monitoring.

  • Offer expert guidance and support to team members and stakeholders regarding Datadog best practices and troubleshooting.


Qualifications:


  • Education:


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.

  • Experience:


    • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with Datadog, particularly in integrating with Kubernetes, cloud providers, CI/CD tools, and Spinnaker.

    • Demonstrated success in setting up and managing data source integrations to achieve traceability and observability.

    • Background in application development, with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices.

    • Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), focusing on maintaining high availability, performance, and scalability of systems.

  • Technical Skills:


    • Proficient in using Datadog’s Service Map, Service Catalog, and other observability tools.

    • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).

    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and Spinnaker.

    • Understanding of application development frameworks and languages (e.g., Java, .NET, Node.js).

    • Knowledge of scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash).

  • Soft Skills:


    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

    • Capability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
