Coders Connect is partnering with a global leader in digital transformation, seeking a skilled Database Developer with strong Power BI expertise. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical data initiatives, working in a hybrid setup with a vibrant downtown Montréal team.


About the Job


You’ll play a key role in building and maintaining reliable, high-performing databases while enabling impactful data visualization and insights through Power BI. This position is ideal for a developer who enjoys problem-solving, working with complex datasets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.


The Mission


Your mission will be to ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of database systems while transforming data into actionable insights. By combining strong backend development skills with Power BI reporting, you’ll help drive smarter business decisions and elevate enterprise data capabilities.


What You’ll Work On


  • Designing, coding, and maintaining databases across multiple environments

  • Developing and optimizing stored procedures, scripts, and database components

  • Building, managing, and enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports

  • Collaborating with application teams and business users to understand data requirements

  • Researching and recommending new database tools, products, and protocols

  • Ensuring database programs meet business performance and compliance standards

  • Supporting data transfers, Control-M scheduling, and DevOps workflows


Requirements


  • 5–7 years of hands-on database development experience

  • Proficiency in SQL Server, Sybase, database modeling, and shell scripting (Unix)

  • Strong Power BI development skills, with experience in building impactful dashboards

  • Familiarity with data warehousing, reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, SSAS, Cognos), and modeling methodologies

  • Experience with job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M) and file transfer mechanisms

  • Knowledge of version control systems (SVN or similar)

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills
