The Database Administrator is responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading the Alamo Colleges Districts centralized computer databases. Applies technical expertise to database administration, in accordance with the hardware and software requirements and the objectives of the Alamo Colleges District’s users/clients. Ensures availability and efficient access to data through innovative approaches to data management. Implements and maintains automated interfaces between computing systems. Provides direct support to the Enterprise Database Manager in securing and optimizing the Alamo database environment.

Minimum Education and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Services or related field or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.Four years' experience in a computer related field, including two years as a database administrator.Preferred Education and Experience:Master's degree in database technology, computer information systems, management information systems or Computer Science.Four years of experience in database technology.Licenses and Certifications:Must possess and maintain a valid driver license. Must be insurable through the organization’s insurers.Oracle Certified Professional preferred.Microsoft Certified Database Administrator preferred
