TRS is an agency of the State of Illinois governed by a Board of Trustees. Full-and part-time employees are eligible for the State of Illinois comprehensive benefits program which includes medical, dental and vision coverage. All employees hired after August 17, 2001 participate in the TRS retirement pension plan. Employees also have the option to contribute to additional State of Illinois deferred compensation plans. As a Database Administrator, the successful candidate will perform database administration tasks with minimal guidance from senior staff, for the implementation and operation of a variety of database systems and applications running on Linux and Windows server platforms, containers and Azure. These tasks which are in direct support of TRS’ software development, data analytics, and application teams include creation of data fix scripts, database design, database analysis, database information assurance and security, database installation, database configuration, and database performance monitoring and tuning. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring junior staff.
