Work You’ll Do

As a Managed Services Engineer II on the Human Services Transformation team, you will be responsible for…

• Administer and maintain PostgreSQL database environments supporting application and operational needs
• Analyze and optimize database performance, including query tuning, table tuning, and configuration updates
• Support database operations for development teams, including deployments, schema changes, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
• Manage and monitor Microsoft Azure database platforms, including Azure Cosmos DB, to support availability and performance objectives
• Perform database maintenance activities such as backup, recovery, patching, capacity planning, and performance monitoring

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years of experience administering PostgreSQL databases in production environments
• 3+ years of experience with database performance optimization, query tuning, and table tuning
• 2+ years of experience administering Microsoft Azure databases, including Azure Cosmos DB
• 2+ years of experience supporting application development teams with database operations, deployments, and schema changes
• 2+ years of experience performing database backup, recovery, monitoring, and maintenance activities
• Ability to travel 0-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:

• Experience with database automation using Structured Query Language (SQL), shell scripting, or Python
• Experience with production database incident support, root cause analysis, and issue remediation
• Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools
• Experience supporting cloud-based database migration or modernization activities
• Experience supporting government or public sector technology environments
