
The Office of Innovation & Technology (OIT) is the central IT agency for the City of Philadelphia and is led by the Chief Information Officer (CIO). The mission of the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services (DBHIDS) is to educate, strengthen, and serve individuals and communities so that all Philadelphians can thrive. We work with persons recovering from mental health and/or substance use, individuals with intellectual disabilities, families, and service providers to ensure that high quality services are accessible, effective and appropriate. Under limited supervision, the Data Warehouse Developer (DWD) supports information integration and delivery needs for DBHIDS as part of the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) team. The DWD works collaboratively with business stakeholders, data architects, data management professionals and other analysts. The DWD is responsible for understanding the business definitions of data, where the data is collected, how it is published, and the technologies necessary to make it a useful resource for data consumers. As part of the EDW team, the DWD will support the activities of the enterprise business intelligence (BI) team as well as individual business unit analysts, and work on cross-unit EDW, BI, and master data management (MDM) projects. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This DWD role requires a service-oriented mentality, a high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, a focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with expectations, establishing and maintaining communication with database stakeholders to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
