In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of maintenance and asset data that supports essential water infrastructure services. Working closely with operational teams, planners, and stakeholders, you'll help drive compliance, improve reporting accuracy, and support informed decision-making across the contract.

About the Role

Reporting to the Asset and Optimisation Manager, the Data Validation Officer is responsible for validating completed works, reviewing asset and operational data, identifying discrepancies, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analysing information, maintaining high standards of accuracy, and collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders to improve business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate completed work orders and supporting documentation to ensure contractual requirements have been met.
  • Review maintenance, asset, and operational data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Identify data quality issues, non-conformances, and discrepancies, and work with operational teams to resolve them.
  • Perform desktop audits and quality assurance checks on completed works and records.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of data governance and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation in line with company standards and document control requirements.
  • Collaborate with planners, operational teams, clients, and stakeholders to improve reporting and data integrity.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of accountability and quality.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a data validation, quality assurance, asset management, project administration, or similar role.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse large volumes of information accurately.
  • Experience reviewing service reports, work orders, scopes of work, or asset-related documentation.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Experience working with electronic records, document management systems, or asset management platforms.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to prioritise competing tasks and work independently.
  • Water industry experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
