Ohio Department of Public Safety – Bureau of Motor Vehicles/Field Operations/Deputy Technical Services

• Cafeteria On-site!What You'll Do as a Data Systems Coordinator Supervisor• Under direct supervision of the Assistant Chief of Central Operations, supervise unit of lower-level coordinators in coordinating office automation projects:
• Oversee the Deputy Technical Services unit by providing management & supervisory guidance for the statewide Deputy Registrar & Business Application Service System (BASS) &/or Driver Examiner (DX) computer networks; Schedule data & network additions, deletions, & improvements with multiple vendors; Provide complex technical & procedural support;
• Establish priorities & supervise subordinate personnel (e.g., provide developmental opportunities & work direction, coach staff to foster development, monitor staff activities to ensure quality customer service & information technology security, evaluate performance, approve section staffing levels, recommend discipline, pre-screen applications & participate in interviews);
• Place, track, & clear service calls to multiple vendors & reporting data network concerns to Law Enforcement Administrative Data System (LEADS) controlling board;
• Collaborate with LEADS network control center to determine network diagnostics; Respond to concerns associated with Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) Deputy Registrar Data Network.Click here to see the full position description

Qualifications

Option 118 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in data processing/computer science (i.e., excludes data entry & keypunch); AND 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in computer hardware/software systems; AND 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in microcomputer, minicomputer &/or mainframe application programs; AND 1 course or 3 mos. trg. in operation of computer terminal & peripheral equipment (e.g., printers, modems, bursters, disk & tape drives).Option2-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science/electronic data processing.-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.Helpful Tips for Applying:
