SUMMARY:

The Data Storage and Management Specialist supports enterprise storage, backup, and data handling environments with a focus on NetApp systems, filer administration, and storage network operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs daily storage tasks including provisioning, monitoring capacity, maintaining storage efficiencies, and ensuring reliable data availability across mission systems.
• Administers NetApp clusters, managing snapshots and replications, validating backups, troubleshooting storage performance issues, and maintaining accurate documentation for configuration changes and system health.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of database management applications, maintains established databases, generates output files in prescribed report formats, and supports the distribution and control of media and documents in accordance with standard DoD and weapons systems practices.
• Responsibilities include coordinating with local base IT and network authorities to align storage and data management procedures, resolve infrastructure issues, and support installation‑level continuity requirements. • Additional duties involve handling storage‑related hardware, assisting users with data access issues, performing file permission changes, and supporting routine backup and recovery operations.• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

• At least 1 year of experience.• Must have a DOD Secret security clearance and have or be able to obtain an SSBI.• As per Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8140.01, this position shall require Information Assurance Technicians (IAT) Level 2 certification.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision with effective written and verbal communication skills.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTO are required.
