Job Description

The Dufresne Group is currently seeking a Temporary Data Specialist (Maternity Leave Cover) for our Dufresne Merchandising Team within our Home Office located at 147 Commerce Drive in Winnipeg, MB

As a Data Specialist, you will be responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and governance of product information across TDG’s digital banners (Dufresne, Ashley HomeStore, and drSG). This role supports end-to-end SKU lifecycle management in the Product Information Management system (Plytix), coordinates digital asset management in Cloudinary, and ensures product data integrity across downstream platforms including Shopify and Algolia. The Data Specialist contributes to data quality initiatives, process documentation, and the continuous improvement of digital customer experience.

As the Data Specialist you will:

  • Create and maintain product SKUs in Plytix (PIM) according to category standards and data governance rules for Dufresne, Ashley HomeStore, and drSG banners.
  • Complete all data entry and data-related tasks in PIM: attribute population, vendor mapping, error review and correction, and web readiness validation.
  • Organize, upload, and sequence photography assets in Cloudinary (DAM) following current photography guidelines.
  • Maintain product data integrity in downstream systems to ensure accurate and consistent customer-facing product information.
  • Support SKU lifecycle management including new item setup, reactivations, discontinuations, redirect assignments, and historical data clean-up.
  • Provide the merchandising team with Ashley Furniture Industries (AFI) processing status and web copy status.
  • Maintain vendor creation, vendor maintenance, and margin targets in Product Data Management (PDM).
  • Assist with data enrichment workflows, including coordination with third-party enrichment partners and AI-assisted content tools, following established governance and approval processes.
  • Participate in data quality audits, attribute fill-rate analyses, and rationalization projects to improve product data completeness and accuracy.
  • Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal documentation related to data workflows.
  • Contribute to cross-functional data requests from Merchandising, Marketing, Digital, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives within the Digital Data & Ecommerce team.

As a successful candidate you will have the following:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Marketing, Data Science, or Mathematics.
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency working in Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn in-house programs.
  • Analytical and critical thinker.
  • High attention to detail and prioritization skills.
  • Creative problem solving, ability to think outside of the box/troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
