Job Description

Position: Data Specialist (Manager II) Teaching and Learning

Location: Christina Administration Office

Reports To: Assistant Superintendent

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in education related field
  • Must hold DE or be eligible for DE Certified Central Office Personnel certification; building administrator experience preferred
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis techniques
  • Technical expertise with manipulating large data sets, data models, and data mining
  • Adept at performing statistical analysis, report writing, and presenting findings
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations relating to FERPA and student data privacy laws
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and SQL beneficial
  • Background with Microsoft Power PI or other data visualization tools preferred
  • Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday.
  • Minimum lifting requirements- 50 pounds (with assistance)

Months Of Employment: 12 month position

FRINGE BENEFITS: Twenty-four (24) days' vacation per fiscal year; Health Insurance; Life Insurance; Blood Bank; Benefit Stipend to assist with the cost of prescription, vision and/or dental insurance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the department and schools with continuous improvement planning and comprehensive school review visits
  • Collaborate with curriculum and school-level leadership to systematize the use of data at the school level to increase the efficacy of teachers and the fluidity of using data to drive change
  • Collect and analyze data to support district wide strategic planning and student success
  • Engage district and school leadership with data that informs decision-making
  • Provide professional development to the department and building leadership regarding data analysis and systems thinking as it relates to school improvement
  • Assist with data queries and analysis, including but not limited to state and district tests, surveys, approved research, program analyses, and report requests from administrative staff
  • Review data metrics for school and district accountability, graduation cohort, and state-released data
  • Create data dashboards and interactive reports
  • Write qualitative and quantitative reports and provide related presentations
  • Develop and support school-level and district-level data analysis protocols for district and school staff to use when interacting with data
  • Assist with survey calendar, monitor participation in large-scale surveys, and process survey requests.
  • OCR and CRDC data support
  • Other duties as assigned
