The Data Specialist for Graduate Admissions manages the student communication via email, walk-in guests, and phones for the office; inputs documents - email and mailed in; and when the Graduate Office Manager is out-of-office, resumes necessary processes of the office. This position is the first point of contact for prospective and re-admission graduate students.

- Assist the university in implementing the Statement of Purpose
- Assist the university in implementing the long range institutional and financial plans
- Process graduate applications for master, specialist, and choice doctorate degrees
- Process transcripts and supporting documents into CAMS
- Answer incoming emails and calls regarding graduate status of files
- Greet and aid guests to the Graduate Admissions Office
- Communicate with departments regarding student files when necessary
- Initiate contact with applicants by email, text and phone regarding their admissions status and documents needed
- Assist the Graduate Office Manager in organizing and managing files as needed
- Perform other tasks as deemed necessary for operation of the Graduate Admissions Office
- Participate in the annual evaluation of the effectiveness of the Admissions Office

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent customer service skills
Preferred
Qualifications
- Prior computer experience
- Experience in a university administrative office
Physical Demands
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, and to use standard office equipment including a computer and 10-key calculator
- Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
- Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Must have strength and agility to move files, paper boxes, and minor office equipment
- Must be able to maintain office hours and perform duties in an on-campus setting
