What you'll be doing
The Information Security Data Security team helps protect the organization’s data by strengthening governance, managing risk, and advancing security capabilities across the enterprise. As a Data Security Consultant, you'll play a key role in shaping and maturing data security frameworks, standards, governance, procedures, and controls that support the organization’s broader security strategy. You'll work closely with technology teams, risk management, compliance, legal, data owners, and business stakeholders to help ensure regulatory requirements and enterprise security objectives are understood and achieved. In this role, you'll balance governance and oversight responsibilities with technical advisory support across key data security domains, helping teams apply practical and effective controls in modern data environments. You'll contribute to strategic initiatives, guide control maturity efforts, and help create a strong, sustainable approach to protecting sensitive and regulated data.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role you’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a remote (if non-local) or hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2 days per week on-site in Chicago, while other days may be remote.
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 for the Chicago market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our employee’s needs; including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Disability, and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave, Parental Leave and Vacation), Holidays and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
