
The Social Science Data and Computation Lab at Dartmouth College seeks to appoint a Data Scientist who will support research in economics, government, and quantitative social science. This position is based in and reports to the department chairs of those three academic units. It offers sustained exposure to frontier research and close interaction with active faculty and students.
This role is research facing. The person in this position will work closely with faculty and students on original projects; help design empirical strategies; clean, document, and prepare data; conduct statistical analysis using Stata and R (and possibly Python). The data scientist will help translate results into clear tables, figures, and presentations; and teach short workshops for undergraduates on applied data skills.
This position is full-time, salaried ($90-$100K according to experience), non-remote, and in-residence at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. The start date is as early as July 1, 2026.
