Data Scientist - Signals

• Salary banding: £54,000 to £64,000
• A background in data analysis is advantageous.

We are actively seeking a high performing Data Scientist to play a key role in a new squad responsible for ensuring our users are seeing the right information at the right time.

Data Based Signals (DaBS) is a new squad in the Data Mission. ClearScore’s Data Mission is a world class team using the latest highly scalable technology to manage the strategic asset of our ever growing volume of data. DaBS new objective is to leverage this data and the new app functionality provided by CS25.5 to enable the best Signals (e.g. insights, offers, actions etc.) that help our users understand their financial position and what they can do to improve it.

What you will be doing:

• You will be reporting to the Head of Data Based Signals and working alongside members of other squads - e.g. Upstream, GTM & Platform
• You will conduct analytical projects to understand
• the effectiveness of existing Signals
• evaluate eligibility of proposed changes or additions to Signals
• user coverage of existing and proposed new Signals
• You will be able to propose improvements to existing or entirely new Signals in order to maximise the value our data can bring to the user experience
• You will help design the ranking methodology that will decide which Signals, when and where, to show to each user
• As Signal design and ranking become more sophisticated, you will be involved in developing the ML models expected to be needed to power these

Skills we'd love you to have

• Excellent SQL and Excel skills
• Good experience with data modelling and relational database structure and design
• Good experience of one or more of R, Python, SAS or equivalent
• Awareness, or ideally, some experience, with ML processes, algorithms & techniques
• Excellent quantitative and numerical skills
• Ability to plan and prioritise your own workload
• Good collaboration & communication skills - DaBS is a small squad and we need to work well with others to achieve our objectives

Our Hybrid Model
