Data Scientist for Enterprise Planning

HP’s Enterprise Planning & Analytics team is focused on building world-class digital capabilities, and our Data Science team is responsible for leading the development of data science models to support that vision. Whether it’s improving our ability to do demand planning & forecasting, or better understanding the behaviour of our partners & customers, in this role you will be empowered to work across a range of areas and use cases, leveraging your expertise with machine learning and/or statistics modelling, GenAI & Agentic AI to deliver value.

Responsibilities

• Leverages structured and unstructured data to build and deploy machine learning or statistical models.

• Partners with senior stakeholders to assess, develop and position data science projects in order to deliver value to the organization.

• Navigates complex data and business processes in order to build end-to-end solutions

• Is able to leverage strong communication skills to deliver complex messaging to both technical and non-technical leaders

• Can engage in multiple projects while coordinating the efforts other team members within the context of each project.

• Can manage all data science aspects of a project - often partnering with project management professionals as part of broader, company-wide engagements

Knowledge & Skills

• Extensive experience applying stats/ML methods to specific business domains

• Ability to translate real-world problems into questions that can be answered via data science models.

• Expert level proficiency working with Python and SQL; experience in software development a plus.

• Experience in designing and deploying GenAI and agentic AI solutions.

• Ability to engage with stakeholders in order to transform problem statements to ensure value delivery.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education & Experience Recommended

• Bachelor's, Master's in Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent.

• Typically 3-6 years’ experience including graduate or postgraduate research.

Impact & Scope

• Expected to lead and collaborate with team members on a per-project basis, and interact frequently with project managers, leadership and senior stakeholders.

• Typically interacts with high- level Individual Contributors, Managers, Directors and Program Core Teams.

• Leads multiple projects requiring a range of data science topics, including data engineering, statistical/ml modeling, and business intelligence

• End-to-end delivery of GenAI and agentic AI initiatives with measurable business impact and cross-functional scope.
